The Most Important Thing About Ottumwa
by Mrs. Brill's Second Graders 2006

The important thing about Ottumwa, Iowa is it is the City of Bridges... River of Opportunity.

Ottumwa is located on the Des Moines River.  Parts of Ottumwa are over 160 years old, as it was built on Fox and Sac Indian Territory.  Newer parts of Ottumwa include the Bridge View Convention Center, the Beach Water Park and many pizza restaurants.  At the Ottumwa Lagoon Park you can feed the ducks most of the year.

But the most important thing about Ottumwa is it is the City of Bridges... River of Opportunity.
