Autumn Across America

We are a Kindergarten class of 23 students. We started our Autumn project with the book It’s Fall! by Linda Glaser.
Fall trees were created with the art teacher. Various activities were planned to extend this interest such as leaf rubbings and studies with magnifying glasses during our science center. We enjoyed the big book form of I Am A Leaf by Jean Marzollo. Through shared writing, we wrote about what we learned about leaves. The
children developed a real interest in the leaves that they found
in the school yard at recess. They were excited by the different
colors and sizes they found. This was extended through various
leaf activities.
