Fortunately!

Some books are so much fun to read! You want to hear them again and again! Fortunately by Remy Charlip is that kind of book. It's about a boy named Ned who, fortunately, is invited to a surprise party. Unfortunately it was far away. Fortunately a pal loans him an airplane, but as his luck would have it, the motor explodes. He finds a parachute but that has a hole in it! The story continues alternating between Ned's good and bad luck. The illustrations are hilarious too!

My first graders were so excited to write their own Fortunately - Unfortunately stories they couldn't get out their paper fast enough!
