One of our favourite spring books was Spring Changes by Ellen B. Senisi. It has some wonderful photographs that track the progress of spring and the colours it brings to the world.  For the most part, our April weather was quite "unspring- like"!  Snow melted then returned several times during the month with the last significant snowfall on April 16.  Reading Spring Changes helped keep our spirits up and helped us to write our poem.

Sunny, yellow daffodils
Pretty, purple flowers
Robins lay blue eggs
In the garden pink flowers bloom
Now white rabbits turn brown
Green grass grows
