Colorful Spring!

We learned the song/poem Spring Voices by Anonymous.

"Listen" said the pussy willows,
"I can hear the brook,
Spring is coming. Spring is coming.
Let's go out and look."

Out the little pussies ventured,
Creeping up the stem,
All in little furry garments,
Every one of them.

Bluebirds 'mong the leafless branches,
Sang right merrily,
Pussies clambered up to listen
To their song of glee.

"Listen" said the pussy willow.
"l can hear a bird,
Spring is here; it is the sweetest
Song I ever heard."

In our study of this poem/song we found rhyming words on lines 2 and 4, quotation marks and signs of spring. The students drew pictures to illustrate this song/poem.

We focused on making pictures with our words through 5 Senses and Cinquain poetry.
